Our Client who is a global manufacturing company based in Ashford Kent is looking for an experienced Material Controller who is available for a 6 month contract. This will be an immediate start for the right person. This role is a remote working role.

The basic hours of work are 38.5 hours a week, exclusive of a 1-hour lunchbreak, Monday to Friday. The business operating hours are 8.00am to 6.00pm and the core working hours are 9.15am to 4.45pm (with a 1-hour lunchbreak).

Reporting and Forecasting

  • Delivering annual budget and forecast updates for factory direct materials, partnering with procurement global/local teams.

  • Ensure monthly validation for material cost variances.

  • Analyzing & challenging monthly results for the factory material cost, securing consistency with procurement reporting tool Sievo.

  • Monitor Inventory and E&O accrual in accordance with corporate guidelines.

  • Ensure right process in place to guarantee compliance of accounting and internal control rules for their scope

  • Audit and check financial reports and data closely to eliminate discrepancies

  • Ensure right process in place to guarantee compliance of accounting and internal control in line with Company Policy

  • Compliant with SOX & local legal rules

  • Month-end close

Continuous Improvement

  • Streamline processes to ensure best practice and smart working in own role and that of the wider team

  • Support department heads so that they better understand their data and find ways to improve relevant KPIs

  • Provide cost implication insights for suggested changes and site improvement proposals

  • Build tools to support the work of the lead team, prevent errors in data and to aid decision making

Business Partnering / Communication

  • Business partner the leadership team and key stakeholders across the business through regular meetings and reviews

  • Use different communication and presentation techniques to ensure facts and data are concise and relevant to audience.

  • Build relationships with counterparts in other plants to ensure consistency with group and to share best practice

  • Share on a regular and proactive basis your action plans and projects with the Finance Lead to ensure synergy with wider organisational strategy
