Media Advertising Sales Executive

  • Preston

  • £22k plus bonus OTE uncapped

  • 5pm Monday to Thursday, 9.00am - 3.00pm Friday

Using your excellent customer services you will conduct sales via telephone, email to existing and prospective clients in order to develop existing business and generate new business wherever possible.

To sell advertising and subscriptions. Providing the advice & assistance which gives advertisers maximum response to their advertising, at the maximum profit level to the company.

Conduct sales presentations by telephone, or email to existing and prospective clients who have been visited by the Sales Representative in order to develop existing business and generate new business wherever possible.

Advise on the most effective size, position & copy of advertisements / advertising schedules whilst informing of all other services such as feature opportunities, artwork, visuals, colour, internet, proofing, etc.
Continually seek new sales & feature opportunities and develop these in liaison with your departmental colleagues & managers. Obtain and use testimonials & utilise marketing information to strengthen your sales argument where required.

Publishing of Advertisements
Ensure that no advertisement is sent for publication, which contravenes Govt Legislation, Advertising Law, or is unacceptable to the company. In any instances of doubt you must refer to your line manager.
Be familiar & confident with all relevant details of newspaper and on-line production.


  • To achieve set revenue and subscription targets.

  • Adhere to Company & Departmental rules and regulations at all times.

  • To achieve daily effective call rate as set by line manager.

  • Maintain the highest standard of professional appearance, time keeping and attendance.

  • Assist on other territories or advertising departments as & when required.

  • Undertake training courses & attend meetings where & when required.

  • Strive to achieve all necessary criteria as laid out in the annual criteria tracker.

  • Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary for the successful fulfilment of the role

Occasional stays away from home may also be required.

25 days holiday per annum, rising to 27 days after 2 years service.
Induction training will be provided to introduce the candidate to all aspects of the work followed by a training plan specific to the individual.
Probationary period of six months.
Starting salary of £18,000 per annum plus bonus potential.
