In the role, you will become a recognised member of the Food Safety team. You will be conducting and monitoring food related microbiological tests in line with both legal and company requirements. As part of your daily duty, you will identify trends and recommend opportunities and preventative / corrective actions based on your investigation.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the operational teams to consistently develop quality and assurance performance and compliance.

  • Perform internal audits and compliance checks.

  • Maintain and manage the condition of the testing equipment, laboratory facilities and the consumables.

  • Assessing the Food Safety performance and its compliance when compared to existing plans. You will identify any gaps and suggest corrective and preventative actions when required.

  • Driver performance and support the operations teams in any changes.

  • Assist in the launch of new sensitive and confidential products as required.

  • Conduct microbiological analysis as part of the investigation into customer complaints. Following this, you will identify the source and cause of the issue and work to resolve this.

  • Support validation activities relating to your facility.

  • Conduct and provide routine ad-hoc microbiological reports. You will monitor the performance and initiate actions appropriate to your results or trends.

  • Review all microbiology testing data to find adverse trends to avoid non-conformance against the client standards.

  • Perform analysis relating to the water plant (micro and analytical) to understand the operation of the water plan.

  • Train other roles in the basic microbiological roles to expand the sites capability and flexibility.
