My client is a highly reputable Engineering company based in Sheffield and due to a new project are looking for skilled MIG Welders to support their business going forward.

As a Welder/Fabricator you will ideally be able to:

  • Work mainly unsupervised welding supports that have been fabricated

  • Prepare bespoke parts for production (small to medium size engineering)

  • Steel metal work

  • MIG welding experience (TIG/MMA would be an advatage)

  • From time to time you may be asked to perform other duties outside of your normal welding duties depending on the work load and company needs.

  • Weld fabrications and support assemblies from metal products

  • Comply with the companies ISO policy on all aspects

  • Work with mild and stainless steel (1.5mm, 2mm, 5mm, sheet, box section and tube)

  • Ensure that the company health and safety measures are adhered to

  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained within the work area

  • Minimise the wastage of materials and consumables

  • Work without supervision towards achieving strict deadlines

  • Complete all welding tasks on time

  • Deal with engineers, inspectors and other employees professionally at all times

  • Use of hand tools such as press brake, radial arm drill etc

  • Understand engineering drawings/sketches/checklists/working instructions

Temp to perm after 3 months.

The working week is 37 hrs, working eight hours per day Monday to Friday (earlier finish on Fridays). There may be occasional Saturdays depending on the project the client is working on but this would be on a shift and a shift allowance would be applied.
