My client in the Basingstoke area is looing for an expereinced Operations Manager to join their company.


As the Operations Manager in the Factory you will co-ordinate with manufacturing team leaders, project managers and operational staff to ensure production is in accordance to the required programme; communicating and pre-empting capacity issues and implementing necessary steps to ensure deadlines are achieved or amended. This role will be instrumental in driving forward production and maximising efficiency throughout manufacturing operations



Main duties/Tasks:



  • Effectively manage all departments within the manufacturing process; ensuring compliance to process.

  • Complete weekly timesheets for all factory departments.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels in the business regarding distribution of workloads and task deadlines.

  • Highlight installation schedules for duplicate team to pick required products for installation teams.

  • Regular liaison with Operations Manager - Installation.

  • Ensure all staff undertake machine checks on a monthly basis.

  • Log all machine faults and where appropriate coordinate repairs.

  • Monitor weekly fire inspection/testing and update record sheet (located next to equipment).

  • Carry out regular checks of company vehicles, investigating and reporting any faults or damage via the appropriate channels.

  • Ensure all staff are working from 'planning' and distribute tasks accordingly.

  • Ensure materials, product and equipment are inspected and are fit for purpose

  • Challenge/investigate and report to management any damages or loss to/of company property where necessary

  • Coordinate repair defects or malfunctions in house or source external assistance for minimal cost.

  • Ensure all tooling services and repairs are carried out and recorded.

  • Oversee ladder checks to ensure they are being completed inline with Health and Safety procedures and specified timelines with relevant paperwork being completed.

  • Ensure goods returned process is stringently followed and that the database is updated.

  • Ensure the smooth running of the Galv and Paint process as planned via 'planning'.

  • Ensure that all signs are made and ready for dispatch including ones via our external courier in accordance with planning requirements.

  • Ensure the general housekeeping of the factory is up to date and being maintained so the area remains clean and tidy at all times.

  • Ensure vending machine levels are maintained and that money is taken to accounts department on a monthly basis.

  • Ensure the cleaning of facilities in both units is maintained in accordance with

  • Proactively manage Health and Safety processes and educate where necessary.

  • Report any non-conformance in regards to HSE or Quality to management.

  • Participate in external audits as and when required

  • Assist the Installation Operations Manager with the monthly WIP

  • Undertake a monthly audit of the Consignment Stock in conjunction with the Print Room Manager and prepare the findings for the Accounts Team.

  • Oversee that movement of vehicles in and out of the yard on a daily basis to ensure safety procedures are followed at all times for loading, unloading and vehicle manoeuvres.

  • Participate in any job requirement training that may be required.

  • Attend weekly planning meeting and respond to any allocated actions

  • Communicate with key stakeholders via appropriate means and in a timely fashion, including regular maintenance of emails

  • Update weekly planner on a daily basis.

  • Other ad-hoc duties as required
