Adecco are current recruiting for a PA to Assistant Director for a Local Authority based in Lewes.

  • PA to Assistant Director

  • Full time - 37 hours per week

  • Temporary role - 9 weeks (possible extension)

  • Working from home

  • £11.56 per hour

This post is to support the current PA to the Director of Public Health. Any knowledge of the health care system/structure is particularly useful along with any experience /general knowledge about COVID.


To provide an efficient and comprehensive personal assistant and administrative support service for Assistant Directors and the Departmental Management Team collectively.

Key Tasks

  1. Respond appropriately on behalf of Assistant Directors and Heads of Service in day to day contact with customers, all County Council Department employees, outside agencies and Members of the County Council.

  2. Be sufficiently conversant with the work of the Assistant Directors and their Division, to be able to assess relative priorities.

  3. Carry out Personal Assistant duties to the Assistant Directors as required, including maintaining diaries, filing, bring forward systems, arranging appointments, refreshments and coordinating meetings.

  4. Provide a high standard of accurately typed reports, correspondence and presentations.

  5. Organise, attend and service meetings as required by the Assistant Directors and ensuring decisions arising from the meetings are actioned.

  6. Assist the scheduling of work in the Divisions and set up and maintain appropriate systems to ensure timescales are adhered to, including progress monitoring.

  7. Undertake support work for the DMT as one of a team. This involves providing support and undertaking duties for the Director and Assistant Directors.

  8. Provide daily cover for other Personal Assistants within the Department as required.

  9. Organise conferences, seminars and workshops, take notes as required and action decisions taken, code invoices and passing for payment appropriately.

  10. Deal with routine correspondence using own initiative.
