Our client's highly regarded Legal team offers an exciting, innovative environment providing high quality legal services. They are dedicated in providing excellent client care and are seeking a Legal assistant/Paralegal with Contracts and Procurement background, who has a can-do attitude to join their busy and friendly team.

The role is offered on a 3 months contract basis paying £14.58/hour (PAYE basis) working Monday to Friday, 35 hours/week, based in Ealing, West London.

The role reports to the Senior Contracts Lawyer at Ealing Council where this is a public sector contracts and procurement legal role and providing support to the Contracts team.


  • To assist the contracts team in relation to the provision of legal advice and preparation of all documentation relating to contracts and public procurement matters (to include services, works and supplies contracts and related documents for all departments of the Council). The work of the team encapsulates TUPE and pensions, general corporate and commercial matters, data protection and freedom of information).

  • To assist and deal with (under supervision) drafting of smaller value contracts, internal service level agreements, contract variations, extensions, parent company guarantees, collateral warranties, collation and execution of contracts, small contract disputes, research and ad hoc advise.

  • To review contracts and other documents and carry research on contract, procurement, data protection law and other relevant areas.

  • Also, under supervision deal with governance related to the team's work to include officer decisions, member decisions, cabinet reports and advising on tache Councils contract procedure rules.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • LPC qualified candidates but open to considering Paralegal candidates with demonstrable experience within Contracts and rocurement is required.

  • Public sector experience highly desired

  • Excellent communication and IT skills

  • Ability to work as a team player in a pragmatic way as we work with other Council officers to meet the high demand for excellent value for money public services.
