Parks Support Officer

3 Months Temp - (possible extension)

£12.68 PH PAYE

Job Purpose

Take a proactive role in supporting the Parks Team in the day to day service delivery and the continued development of the service

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To assist the daily workload of the Parks and Trees team in liaison with the Parks Service Manager.

  1. To assist with raising purchase orders and invoices for the team using the Capita finance system and dealing with finance enquiries from contractors, customers, and colleagues

  1. To manage customer enquiries via telephone, email and our electronic reporting system Confirm.

  1. Assist with ongoing parks consultations, creating posters for on-site information, preparing summary reports and helping to co-ordinate the biannual Customer Satisfaction Surveys in autumn.

  1. To manage the memorial bench programme, managing all enquiries and arranging installation with our grounds maintenance contractor.

  1. To assist in co-ordination "In Bloom" and "Green Flag" activity under direction of the Parks Officers.

  1. To liaise with our enforcement contractor, Park Guard Ltd to create weekly patrol reports of areas to monitor around the borough. Filing reports as necessary and distributing information to relevant organisation such as the homeless charity SPEAR.

  1. To oversee the recording of the small works programme with the Parks Officer.

  1. Work with the Parks Officer to oversee the corporate complaints in-box and record details as necessary for the monthly reviews.

  1. To take minutes at the monthly contract meetings ready for circulation to relevant officers.

  1. To ensure work achieved is to the highest standards and to strive for customer satisfaction at all times within the available resources.

  1. Liaise with other departments regarding ongoing Parks operations.

  1. Maintain all electronic records and data and ensure they are audible
