An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Partnerships and Programmes Manager to join a public sector organisation based in East London.


The role will be principally responsible for delivering an effective governance and business support function for portfolios and associated partnerships. This will support several boards and all of their associated sub-groups. The successful candidate will ensure robust forward-planning, relevance of the agendas, and quality of the paperwork submitted to meetings, as well as maintaining good communications across the partnerships and tracking of decisions and outputs.


The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working in a public sector environment, preferably within health, commissioning and policy. The successful candidate will have previous experience in the development of policy decisions.


Key duties will include:



  • To ensure that senior managers and Members have access to a good range of policy analysis and advice, in order to support their decision making and their engagement

  • To manage the processes for briefing Members with portfolios, including forward planning, good quality administration, logging/tracking of actions and decisions, co-ordination of newsletters and communication activity about their portfolio

  • To manage systems for ensuring robust decision making, including formal governance systems

  • To maintain a good awareness of developments in policy both locally and nationally, and to be a ready source of reliable information of information on policy

  • To research and produce policy papers to explore matters of new legislation, regulation or emerging issues within the portfolio, and commission research projects as needed to inform organisational thinking

  • To manage systems for ensuring decision and action logs are tracked and maintained, and forward planning is robust and well planned across commissioning and operations
