This role for Payroll Specialist is home based, working 36.25 hours per week and the hourly rate will be from £13.00ph - £16.00ph depending on your experience.

About the role;

This position works with the Payroll Specialist to ensure all processes affecting payroll are carried out timely and accurately for a population of approximately 2100 employees.
This position prepares payroll input and carries out payroll checking for monthly UK & IE payroll.
The position answers escalated and more complex payroll queries, supporting the business and the outsourced payroll and transactional HR partners.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities;

  • Extract employee lists and ensure data quality of assigned employees (e.g. perform assessment whether all new joiners and leavers are correctly recorded)

  • Ensure maintenance and transmission of the master file data for the outsourcing provider

  • Validate accuracy and completeness of employee data with regards to workload, absence, sick leave and other payroll related features and resolve any occurring issues

  • Perform manual calculations re statutory absences inputting and checking against output reports

  • Carry out random sample calculation and ensure that pay registers and payslips are correct from the outsourcing provider

  • Collaborate with Global Mobility Specialist and relevant tax specialist to ensure payroll data is collated and passed across accurately and timely.

  • Support and counsel in the adaption of payroll related policy changes and/or implementations

  • Support in the preparation of the yearly audit process and prepare required information such as taxes, union dues and other related liabilities

  • Ensure coordination with the rest of the local HR Services team to identify any dependencies with other HR processes such as Workforce administration, Benefits and Absence and identify opportunities for collaboration and problem solving.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation

Required Qualification and Experience;

  • Certification in a payroll qualification relevant to UK and preferably Ireland.

  • Experience of payroll processing payroll in a complex international environment including many types of variable pay; integrated and manual payroll input; calculating benefit in kind; query management

  • Experience of working with an outsourced payroll provider delivering payroll in the UK

  • Very good knowledge of local social security and labour law and basic understanding of accounting principles in the UK

  • Proven ability to work to payroll calendar deadlines

  • Problem solving attitude and good communication skills

  • Excellent IT skills namely excel including the ability to perform complex formulae/macros etc.

  • Ability to set priorities and respect for the confidentiality of payroll information is key

  • Experience with a HRIT cloud solution such as Workday and / or payroll software
