Personal Assistant


Pay: £15 per hour
Location: Newham
Hours: Monday to Friday. 9am-5pm. Hybrid working, two days in the office.

Our client wants to promote the entitlement and life chances of pupils in disadvantaged communities. They are passionate about high expectations and outcomes for all their pupils. There schools have strong capacity to support other neighbourhood schools in challenging circumstances. The Chief Finance and Operating Officer (CFOO) is looking for a Personal Assistant to assist them. This is an ongoing role for the right candidate.



  • Set up, maintain and improve (as necessary), high quality office operating systems, processes and files (both manual and electronic) to ensure that all relevant information in the Chief Finance and Operating Officer Office (CFOO) is kept up to date, accurate, is stored securely and is accessible only to those who require it - given its sensitive and confidential nature.

  • Implement and manage a comprehensive electronic filing system through Office 365.

  • Proactively deal with issues for the CFOO, using initiative, knowledge, and sound judgement to resolve personally where appropriate. Recognise where issues require that the CFOO or other senior staff deal with them personally.

  • Identify and implement actions, systems and processes that will improve the effectiveness of the CFOO, co-ordinating the CFOO's "tasks and to-do list" ensuring all deadlines, especially statutory deadlines are met;

  • Research a wide range of topics, assimilate information for briefs and appropriate materials for presentations.

  • Assist with the provision of high-level administrative and project support; assist with the production (and co-ordination of production) of complex documents, letters, reports, spreadsheets and presentations with a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Monitor several inboxes and forward correspondence on to the correct person

  • Administer HQ office stationery and supplies, re-ordering as necessary

  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post



Support the process for co-ordinating papers on behalf of the CFOO for Board and Board Committee meetings including ensuring the appropriate items are on the correct agenda; key contributions from others are delivered to deadlines; further information is collected as required; documents are proofread; and all documents are submitted to the correct individual on time.
