An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pest Control Supervisor to join a public sector organisation based in East London.

The role will be to inspect, administer and market the pest control service to increase the organisation's market share of the commercial waste sector. The successful candidate would ideally be a member of the Royal Society of Pest Health Control or British Pest Control Association. The successful candidate would have excellent knowledge of rodent and insect pests, including their biology and method of control.

The role will be to supervise and coordinate the day to day operation of the pest control service. Key duties would include:

  • To carry out surveys and treatments for the eradication of domestic pests, insect, rodent and avian

  • To accept responsibility for self and the direction of the skilled Pest Control Officers who work in the field with minimal supervision delivering services in domestic and commercial premises.

  • Responsible for the allocation of work derived from calls received by the call centre

  • Maintaining stock of material and equipment, keeping accurate records of stock levels along with keeping up to date with new products whilst working with appropriate health and safety data

  • Maintain and produce pest control guidelines and fact sheets for use of the call centre, businesses and the public

  • Order materials, equipment and uniform for the pest control service

  • Promptly deal with all complaints received

  • Undertake health and safety inspections, risk assessments and COSHH assessments for the pest control service and keep these up to data

  • Estimate for pest control treatments outside the normal published fees

  • Identify pests where required, inspect premises for sites of infestation, advise as to the ingress of pests within property structures and carry out appropriate treatment where necessary

  • Carry out programmed pest control inspections and treatments

  • Provide advice to the public and businesses on ways to prevent or eradicate pest infestations

  • Required to work at height and within confined spaces which are sometimes unpleasant verminous environments specifically in respect of loft inspection and treatments

  • Required to work in and near water courses complying with current legislation when using chemicals, i.e. Wildlife and Countryside Act

  • Lone working within commercial properties and domestic dwellings
