Plumbing and Heating Technician



Adecco Leamington Spa Are delighted to be recruiting for our Coventry based client, who are looking for 3 technicians to assist with the provision of an efficient business critical response service and routine maintenance for all plumbing and mechanical building services including heating/ventilation and all equipment associated with mechanical building services. Ensuring all statutory, planned and breakdown works are completed safely, cost effectively and to the agreed KPI's and Service Level Agreement.



Job Description:




  • To prioritise own workload and tasks, considering where the problem is, the nature of the problem, the number of people affected and the usage of the building.




  • To record resolutions and feedback to problems to work instructions, complete timesheets, service records and other work-related paperwork in priority order.




  • To respond to individual job requests via the job notification system, phone and Radio, including emergency requests. Ensuring each job is seen through to completion, including the arranging if access as required, ordering and chasing materials, liaison with customers and continuous updating of the job status via the tablet.




  • To investigate unidentified problems.




  • Provide advice or suggestions in relation to the installation of new products and equipment, for example different sink/ sanitary ware types, access arrangements and maintenance.




  • Maintain records and documentation as required by line supervisor, advise on any plant defects and requirement for rectification work.




  • Install new equipment as and when required by new projects or requests from other departments.




  • Liaise with customers, contractors and other estates personal.




  • Ensure Health and Safety regulations are met, and all policies are met which include safe systems of work and risk assessment and asbestos awareness.




  • Provide support to the Energy section to promote a proactive culture towards energy savings and suggestions of ways to improve energy savings.




  • Driving of vehicles to transport staff, materials and tools around the Estate.




  • To order equipment and materials needed for jobs or tasks and maintain stock items.



Knowledge, Skills & Experience:




  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or training programme to NVQ3/ City and Guilds Advanced Standard or equivalent in HVAC / plumbing.




  • Experience and demonstration of dealing with high volume of reactive calls and dealing with them in an efficient and effective manner.




  • Experience of managing own workload and managing, prioritisation and customer satisfaction.




  • Ability to resolve problems and use own initiative work well as a team and individually. Good understanding of Health and Safety.




  • Due to the nature of the post it requires that they work in all areas of the large campus infrastructure and recognise any hazards within them.

Sewage Pumping and Storm Water Pumping Stations


Hazardous Laboratories


Confined Spaces


External Conditions (All Weathers)


Roofs


Working with Chemicals etc



Salary & Benefits:




  • Starting at £22,417 with a salary scale reaching £25,941 (For the right candidate, salary matching is considered).
