I am delighted to be supporting my industry leading client in recruiting 4 process operators to join their production team for a new project.


These roles are temporary for 6 months with a review to extend to 12 months.


Ideally you will have injection moulding or extrusion experience, and a background in machine operating and 1st line fix.


The primary role of the process operator will be the preparation, set up, operation and clean down of machinery. The process operator will also support manufacturing activities focussed on the delivery of semi-finished components for medical device applications, so experience in a clean room environment would be advantageous.


To facilitate these roles, the process operator will be responsible for completing process scheduled maintenance and spare part ordering to maintain inventories.


Initially working on 8.30- 4.30 for the training period these roles will then move to a rotating shift pattern Mon- Fri 6-2/2-10/10-6


Key Responsibilities:


* Preparation, set up, operation and clean down of equipment


* Support to the Engineering team with operation and commissioning of new processing technologies.


* Support production of components for supply to medical device manufacturers.


* Completing process preventative maintenance tasks


* Supporting project and tech support teams during the production of compounds or moulding trials


Experience needed to fulfil the role


* Experience of injection moulding of plastics, preferably high performance plastics


* Experience of extrusion processes and general polymer processing


* Some basic first line maintenance experience


Essential skills required


� Ability to set up, operate and maintain injection moulding and extrusion equipment


� Demonstrable ability to assist production activities associated with extended operation of injection moulding equipment.


� Must be able to work independently towards established timelines and targets


� Must be able to work within the constraints of a clean room environment


� Some exposure to cGMP, pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing would be desirable


� Some trade skills would be desirable


� Good verbal and written communication skills


� Demonstrable ability to acquire the knowledge of processing characteristics required to be able to operate a moulding press and compounding line independently without supervision



Qualifications required


Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent (inc English and Maths), preferred A levels or relevant NVQ.
