Adecco Stoke are looking to appoint a experienced and professional procurement administrator to join our well established client within the higher education sector. The successful applicant will act as the primary contact for general procurement enquiries within the department and will provide information and guide stakeholders in the sourcing of goods and service in accordance with procedures. You will place and receipt orders via the in house system with the most appropriate suppliers and will manage the invoice task box to enable invoices to be processed in an efficient and effective manner.

Duties involve the following-

  • Monitor and process purchase requisitions received through the system and evaluate accordingly, ensuring all details are correct and that the requests are processed in a timely manner and to the most appropriate source of supply.

  • Consolidate supply arrangements through effective use of the e-Marketplace functionality.

  • Fully utilise catalogue and direct access to supplier web page functionality to increase efficiency, reducing invoicing queries.

  • Consider sustainability (Environmental, Social and Economic) impacts of goods and services procured including the frequency of standard commodity orders placed and deliveries requested, consolidating as appropriate, seeking advice and support from the Procurement Coordinator as necessary.

  • Receipt/return goods and services on the e-Marketplace system in a timely manner, ensuring that the goods or service have been received satisfactorily beforehand.

  • Run regular commitment reports from the system to assist with budgetary planning.

  • Complete new supplier requests, ensuring the details are accurate and any relevant checks have been carried out to meet HMRC requirements.

  • Ensure all expenditure is coded correctly, ensuring financial information is accurate.

Candidates will need to be forward thinking and the ability to use initiative and organise tasks accordingly. You will support a small but very busy team, therefore will need to possess a positive and outgoing attitude. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.

This is a temporary role for 12 weeks initially but could lead to a permanent position for the right person. Full time working hours are Monday-Friday 8:45am-5:00pm with 1 hour for lunch. Rate of pay from £10.92ph.
