Adecco are delighted to working with Sunseeker in Poole who are recruiting for a Category Procurement lead on a full time permanent basis.


MAIN AIM/PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


As a world renowned manufacturer of luxury yachts we spend £100M+ with external suppliers. From our Head Quarters in Poole, Dorset the Procurement team ensures we have strong relationships both with internal stakeholders and our suppliers, so that we understand the business needs and develop effective category sourcing strategies that drive sustained value, so that Sunseeker can continue to invest in innovative new products and customer relationships.


The Category Lead is responsible for "Cradle to Grave" management of the assigned categories, from implementing timely and cost-effective strategic sourcing of raw material, assemblies and finished products in accordance with internal policies and procedures, through to managing forecasting and schedules on suppliers, and ensuring OTIF delivery performance. This position works closely with the business stakeholders and more junior members of the team to ensure production targets and key KPIs are achieved.


MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES


The incumbent reports to the Procurement Manager within the Integrated Supply Chain Team and is responsible for developing and managing assigned categories, suppliers, and purchases to meet the business needs. Specifically



  • Ensure timely sourcing goods and services to meet business requirements for assigned categories

  • Track, report and maintain accurate procurement records within SAP for their assigned categories (Open order book, SAP Portal, Aged Orders)

  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies for specific purchases or third party solutions which will best meet business needs at best total cost.

  • Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and award contracts for specific purchases, as well as managing those contracts over their life and potential renewal.

  • Analyse the supply base, reduce supply chain risks, assess and optimize expenditure within the assigned category.

  • Improve the Sunseeker Supply Chain, manage procurement process and projects, improve internal customer and supplier relationships

  • For the assigned category/s, develop and assure detailed product and market knowledge to support the business as the category lead expert.

  • Providing direct line supervision to Category Buyers (excluding appraisals).

  • Provide timely input and execution of earlier supplier selection into the product new development cycle. Ensure that critical milestones are identified and achieved for new models and service requests

  • Work in conjunction with Design, Production and suppliers to identify new materials and manufacturing processes that drive continual business improvement. Utilise the engineering change process to achieve these changes.

  • Deliver against key performance KPIs' such as delivery, quality and cost through development of supplier metrics and initiating continuous improvement activities to improve performance over time


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS



  • Demonstrated application of the category strategy process

  • Able to lead and motivate a team, provide direction, support and coaching.

  • Strategic planning skills with ability to develop cost effective and innovative sources of supplies

  • Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills

  • Strong project management and process improvement skills

  • Strong understanding of legal contracts, able to negotiate terms and conditions with little direct supervision

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Purchasing system experience (e.g. Ariba, SAP, Oracle)

  • Has hand on experience with business systems, ERP and P2P experience (e.g. SAP, Ariba, Oracle), and the material planning process.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Either a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related discipline, or substantial procurement experience. Continued updating and/or progress toward advanced degree or equivalent in area of technical expertise an advantage. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain and operates as a subject matter expert in strategic sourcing.
