Our client within public sector is looking for a Procurement/Category Specialist (Construction and Facilities Management) based in Tower Hamlets. The role is offered on a 3 months contract basis paying £450/day (umbrella rate/ inside IR35), working Monday to Friday.


Role requirements:



  • A proven track record of successfully completed procurements across a range of construction and FM works and services contracts covering a wide range of values

  • Sound knowledge and experience of PCR 2015 and EU procurement practice

  • Experience of working with or within Local Authorities and Housing Associations or ALMOs

  • An ability to review specifications, create evaluation models (including price and quality) and draft ITTs and OJEU Notices

  • An understanding of construction processes and procedures enough to communicate effectively with construction specialists

  • Capability to work concurrently on multiple projects

  • IT literacy to support all the above functions (primarily MS Office software)

  • Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of construction contracts

  • The ability to draft basic specifications from scratch

  • Experience of e-tendering portals - Due North is the preferred system

  • An ability to work pro-actively without excessive supervision

  • The experience and confidence to offer alternative strategies to achieve cashable savings

  • Willingness to work as a team member and participate in mutual support, including across other categories

  • Ability to interpret internal Procurement Procedures and provide relevant advice to enquirers

  • Relevant qualification in supply chain or procurement or equivalent experience
