Adecco are delighted to be working for a well established precision engineering business who are recruiting for a Production Manager.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for managing, organising and co-ordinating all aspects of manufacturing to achieve effective scheduling, production targets and high quality products


  • Manage order dating process in line with agreed lead times and where necessary liaise with the Operations & Commercial Manager to achieve and mange customer expectations

  • Coordinate overall work schedule with Cell Leaders to meet customer order requirements and agreed timescales

  • Monitoring production output in terms of quality, quantity and efficiency

  • Identify issues and take action through appropriate problem-solving tools; implement containment and permanent corrective actions

  • Plan people and equipment resources to achieve production requirements whilst ensuring cost and quality are controlled

  • Manage and prepare forecasts for sales output and labour costs monthly

  • Promotion and implementation of continuous improvement through LEAN tools and techniques (e.g. SOPs)

  • Managing the Purchasing function to ensure material is purchased cost effectively and available for production when required

  • Managing the Logistics function /stock control / shipping and despatch to ensure raw material and product is receipted, located, stored and shipped appropriately and stock accuracy maintained

  • Ensure all recruitment and employment is carried out in accordance with company procedures and in compliance with current employment law

  • Establish goals and objectives for self and team and implement accordingly to help support/improve job performance (experience, ability, competence)

  • Develop and monitor performance standards and conduct annual appraisals

  • Identify individual training needs; Implement, monitor and review training and development plans

  • Address any staff discipline or grievance issues, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures

  • Promote and maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirements

  • Manage and report KPI's in line with the company budget and forecast accordingly


  • £40,000 - £45,000

  • Mon - Thurs 7.30am - 4.30pm & Fri 7.30am - 12.30pm
