Production Manager


£30,000 - £35,000 - based on experience


Adecco are looking to recruit a Production Manager to plan, organise and control production of a workforce of up to 50 staff, ensuring that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to an expected quality standard and to control and organise transport for deliveries.


  • Implement and control production schedule; review and adjust the schedule where needed.

  • Co-ordinate the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to meet delivery schedule and to complete assigned jobs.

  • Determine the materials and human resources required

  • Liaise with Branch Manager regarding stock levels for purchase order to be raised.

  • Ensure all work entered production follows the order entry standards and procedures.

  • Organise staff and distribute the workload, ensuring that production is cost effective.

  • Monitor production and quality control, to detect and correct problems, to ensure products are produced on time and are of good quality.

  • Determine and implement improvements to production process.

  • Complete weekly/monthly reports in Branch Managers absence.

  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement.

  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to.

  • Ensure implementation and Production team adherence to health and safety procedures.

  • Maintain production control records and provide information to sales representatives, finance, customers and management with regards to delivery, dates, schedules and operating problems.

  • Oversee all staff scheduling, working hours, overtime and time off requests.

  • Supervising and motivating production team members.

  • Monitor and review the performance of Production team staff via day to day supervision and organise necessary interventions for improvement.

  • Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.

  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management.

  • Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules.

  • Comply with the company's policies and procedures as set out within the Employee Handbook, Accreditations Manual (including Best Practice Quality Guide) and the Health and Safety Manual, as updated from time to time.

  • Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the company's Integrated Management System (currently comprising of the Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and the Health and Safety Management System), as updated from time to time.

  • Comply with the requirements of any Core Duties or other relevant procedural or policy document applicable to your role.

  • Undertake any other duties within his/her competence or otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
