Production Operator - Cold Forging


: To set and operate cold forging equipment to Company work procedures and instructions.



Rate of Pay: £10.79 - £15.02 per hour experience depending

Role Outline



Key Responsibilities




  • Set and operate cold forging equipment to company work procedures and instructions.

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and participate in breakdown maintenance as required.

  • Regularly monitor production to ensure it meets the required quality standards.

  • Work closely with the team leader and lead operator to ensure production meets agreed deadlines.

  • Liaise closely with colleagues on status of machines, maintenance and quality or on any other related issues to ensure the continuity of production.

  • Maintain daily production, maintenance and quality records.

  • Use a fork lift truck or ped op for the transfer of raw materials from stores to production area.

  • Promote a safe work area carrying out regular housekeeping duties
    as necessary.

  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company




Education / Qualifications



� Experience of working in a manufacturing environment and the ability to follow work instructions/specifications is essential.



� Previous experience of visual inspection for cosmetic defects would be a considerable advantage.



  • Experience in SPC would be an advantage.




  • A qualification in an engineering capacity would also be an advantage. (NVQ,HNC,HND)




  • Fork Lift truck licence would be desirable but is not essential.

  • Be a good team player with experience of effectively contributing to a team environment as well as the ability to work on own initiative and under pressure



  • Work accurately and efficiently

  • Possess good problem solving abilities



  • Have experience working in a fast moving environment and be able to demonstrate good time management and organisational skills

  • Be reliable with a proven attendance record
