Central Government organisation are looking for a Commercial Manager to work within the professional services team to support the Senior Professional Services Category Manager with contingent labour/consultancy contracts.
The role will be essentially REMOTE with a view to visits to the office only when deemed critical. The main offices are York and London but the team are situated across the country.

The Strategic Sourcing team focuses on the organisation's highest value and risk business needs. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the team ensure the inclusion of commercial considerations throughout the lifecycle of any specific project, from identifying (and challenging) proposed needs, through to informing complex Business Cases , and strategically apprising sourcing options.
A number of high profile projects are currently running in parallel, with differing project support needs. This role will provide support to both Commercial Leads and departmental stakeholders by ensuring key project resources are provided and maintained (managing RADIO logs, chasing actions, inputting into sourcing strategies and business cases, supporting market engagement sessions etc).
Ideal candidate:
- Either a Procurement Manager/Commercial Manager with experience of supporting procurement activity in public sector
Skills
- Understanding of the procurement/commissioning cycles and processes.
- Understanding of business case requirements and development.
- Ability to influence stakeholders in sensitive and time limited scenarios.
- OJEU/FTS level sourcing experience

- Experience of working with senior stakeholders to shape and drive change
- Experience of working in the Public Sector
- Experience of working within a public sector commercial/procurement function.
