I have a great opportunity to work with our Higher Education client based in Central London. This is currently a one month position starting on the 15th July as a Programme Administrator paying £16.74 per hour. 35 hours per week currently home based.

Key Tasks:

  • Management of undergraduate degree programmes and forward planning of the annual cycle of tasks and processes which underpin the programmes, currently: the BA in History, the BSc in International Relations and History and the BSc in History and Politics, producing material for teaching, answering queries and maintaining student records.

  • Managing the annual updating of programme regulations and course guides.

  • Managing the collection and accurate processing of all assessed coursework.

  • Administrative support as required in the course of the academic session to the Undergraduate Programme Tutor, Undergraduate Programme Director and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor and Chair of Undergraduate Examinations Sub-Board.

  • Manage, attend and take minutes at the Staff/Student Liaison Committee meetings

  • Manage, attend and take minutes of Examination Sub-Boards, organising production of Assessments, and take responsibility for developing and ensuring the accuracy of the mark breakdown sheets.

  • Prepare and check undergraduate assessment papers, collate of marks and preparation of mark frames, arrange external examiners meetings, liaise with the School's Exams office as required helping to ensure that high standards of accuracy are maintained in the examination process.

  • Administrative support for faculty in the Department and academic visitors ensuring timely request to other school services for ID card, fob and email accounts and their extension arrangements.

  • Assisting the Department Manager with office space arrangements and IT resources.

  • Dealing with general office matters and enquiries (telephone, electronic, in person).

  • Creation and maintenance of electronic distribution lists, databases, spreadsheets.

  • Overseeing department's postal arrangements.

  • Ordering and distribution of goods and services catering, stationery, water etc...

  • Ongoing creation and maintenance of various excel spreadsheet.

  • VLE (Moodle) updating as required.

Demonstrable student-facing administrative experience

Excellent IT skills, including:

Intermediate MS Word and MS Excel

Familiarity with MS Outlook or other email packages


  • Experience of having successfully working in an administrative function in the higher education sector.

  • Good working knowledge of SITS or another student database

  • Good working knowledge of Moodle

  • Experience of preparing for and/or administering and delivering exam periods.
