We are recruiting a Programmer Support Officer for Cheshire Police to provide Programme Management support for Strategic Programmes of work. The role will require the ability to work and liaise with Chief Officers and Senior Managers in Cheshire Constabulary and external organisations.



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide Programme Managers with support throughout the life cycle of a programme. Specifically;




  • To collect, interpret and evaluate information required to populate the Programme plan.




  • To develop and manage risk, issue and change control processes to enable effective implementation of the Programme.




  • To instigate and lead regular progress reporting mechanisms for the Programme to provide clarity to the SRO, Programme team, Senior Management (across organisations) and governance boards regarding the delivery progress of individual activities within the programme.




  • To prepare comprehensive factual reports on the progress of activities, including Programme Board reports.




  • To develop and manage the Programme's information management systems and configuration management to enable up-to-date information availability and to understand resource capacity across the programme, including individual resource availability.




  • Act as a source of expertise providing guidance and advice at all levels across the organisations in respect of the processes and procedures for the Programme, ensuring a common approach across the all stakeholders.




  • Lead the development and implementation of guidelines, procedures and templates to collect and maintain consistent data.




  • Manage key performance measures for the Programme, in order that the team's performance can be measured.




  • Facilitate all programme related meetings to capture notes and actions for circulation to key stakeholders following review and approval by the Programme Manager.




  • Co-ordinate the change management process on behalf of the Programme Manager and maintain change records in accordance with the Change Management Strategy.



Requirements:



  • Significant experience working in a business/organisational support role, supporting organisational change delivery.

  • Ideally some experience of change methodology would be desirable.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.

  • Knowledge of change management methodologies including project, programme and portfolio management.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels across the services.

  • Ability to drive success by producing outputs, managing tasks, meeting timescales and pursuing goals.

  • Ability to articulate information clearly, written and verbal.

  • Good problem-solving ability.

  • Proven track record of resilience under pressure.

  • Positive attitude to change and innovation.

  • High degree of attention to detail.

  • Strong team player.



This is initially a 3-4 month assignment with the potential for further opportunities.
