Position - Project Engineer - Tooling

Salary - £38,000 to £40,000


The role: The tooling project engineer is the bridge between sales, production, customers and sub-contract suppliers. You will provide technical advice, quotations, capacity and schedule information to assist customers in achieving their product requirements and deadlines. Topics will include all aspects of injection mould tool development, from quotations through to tooling approval, and then the management of repeat moulding work.
The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, computer literacy and a sound engineering background. Commercial awareness and an ability to keep a level head under pressure is also important. Within our existing team we have one Projects Department Manager and 4 Tooling Project Engineers. The new employee is expected to have worked in project engineering for at least 5 years. It will be more than likely that his/her background will be manufacturing or engineering in a toolmaking or injection moulding / die-casting environment. Typical aspects of experience could include, DFM's (tooling feasibilty), tool design and construction, mouldflow, plastic processing, tool maturation through to approval. Knowledge of quality systems, APQP, PPAP, and TS16949 would be of benefit.

Essential Experience / Qualities
. Manufacturing or engineering background. HNC/Degree.apprentieship in Mechanical Engineering.
. Solid knowledge of injection moulding, toolmaking and/or die-casting
. Excellent computer literacy
. Excellent communication skills
. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
