Adecco's specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with Wakefield Housing District to assist them in recruiting a Project Officer on a fixed term contract until December 2023 to work out of their offices located in Wakefield.



Purpose:


The post holder will be a Sustainability service subject matter expert, supporting delivery of the WDH Sustainability Plan - provide technical/specialist sustainability, energy and climate change expertise to teams across the organisation to embed principles and realise corporate decarbonisation targets and ambitions.



Duties:



  • Undertake work to improve the energy efficiency of WDH's housing stock and tackle fuel poverty.

  • carry out performance monitoring, analysis and reporting to inform current and future investment programmes and organisational ways of working; and

  • manage the day-to-day obligations of the corporate utilities' contracts, in line with financial and regulatory requirements.

  • implement specific programmes/projects in the following areas:

  • energy and resource conservation/efficiency.

  • renewable energy

  • water conservation and management.

  • low carbon transport.

  • green purchasing.

  • climate change.

  • biodiversity and waste management (recycling, waste minimisation, etc.)

  • be responsible for the design, commissioning, delivery and evaluation of employee training programmes.

  • undertake day-to-day maintenance and contract management

  • monitor and measure performance of renewable technologies; * research new heating systems and renewable technologies and government initiatives to provide user friendly documents and advise senior management

  • assist the Senior Project Officer - Sustainability in the specification of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies for new-build developments and retrofit projects

  • be responsible for the monitoring of externally financed/funded projects



Requirements



  • A Degree or at least a Level 3 in Energy Awareness or other related subject and the willingness to work towards achieving a full qualification.

  • Experience working in a similar role

  • Project experience is desirable but not mandatory - to be able to run a project or have the right attributes

  • Must be a people person and have string interpersonal skills- able to work with different teams and stakeholders

  • Strong organisation skills
