Property Compliance Officer


Location: Covering East Essex


Salary: £27,181.70 plus £1,800 car allowance


Hours: Monday - Friday 9 - 5 (hour unpaid lunch)


Fixed Term 12 Month Contract


Driving licence and access to own vehicle is required due to the role being a field-based position


My client is looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual who would enjoy a varied role/ field-based role. The role involves carrying out site-specific risk assessments by carrying out regular site inspections. Ensure estates, playgrounds, apartment blocks are clean, tidy and well-maintained as well as ensuring that Health and Safety measures are being adhered to.


The ideal candidate will come from a housing association, Fire Safety, grounds maintenance background or have knowledge in the above areas.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Be responsible for the monthly Playground inspections and checks

  • Carry out relevant health and safety checks for areas such as legionella, fire alarms and emergency lighting

  • Continuously review and update processes and procedures

  • Record, manage and monitor performance in our housing management system and prepare regular performance information and commentary

  • Complete the annual review of Fire Risk Assessments and ensure the completion of any actions arising from them

  • Identify, scope, and deliver Estate improvements ensuring effective budget management

  • Carry out the day-to-day contract management for grounds maintenance and Cleaning

  • Complete the New build handover process including the formal handover of estates/blocks

  • Complete pre and post void inspections and scheduling with support from building surveyors on major voids

  • Completing Estate Inspections including arranging Tree surveys and devising an effective management plan

  • Ensure responsibilities in respect of health and safety legislation are fulfilled

  • Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required


The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team, be able to work to tight deadlines and have a positive approach. Good IT skills including MS Office are a must.
