Purchasing Assistant


Location: Stansted, Essex


Salary/Rate: £26,000 - £28,000


Type: Full time, Permanent - Flexible hours available


Adecco are currently recruiting for a Purchasing assistant/Buyer on behalf of a Stansted based consumable supplier. This is a fantastic opportunity for a purchasing assistant/Buyer to work alongside the Operation department. As a key member of the Purchasing team, you will need excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and previous experience within a similar position.


Job responsibilities include but not limited to:




  • Source effectively for the needed products,




  • Work closely with the planning team to ensure an efficient conversion rate of planned purchased products,




  • Maintain and improve overdue order measures,




  • Liaise with the Service Administrator to ensure the effective placing of orders and the first line confirmation,




  • Maintain supplier relationships and organise regular communication,




  • Report all follow ups, Due dates and delayed orders on to Sage 200 system,




  • Set up and maintain the Sage 200 system,




  • Devise and maintain a supplier rating system,




Person Specification: (skills, knowledge and experience required)




  • Proven experience within a similar position,




  • Excellent Negotiation and Communication skills,




  • Strong Excel skills is essential,




  • Have a positive attitude at all times and able to meet KPIs,




  • Strong planning & organisation skills with the ability to manage customer expectations,




  • Flexibility, adaptability & Initiative,




  • Strong interpersonal skills,
