Purchasing Clerk 12m fixed term contract

The role -

  • Initiate purchasing processes as contracts approach expiry.

  • Log complaints received from depots and follow these up with suppliers

  • Maintain information on various purchasing systems and databases

  • Produce a variety of reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

  • Attend supplier meetings, record and distribute minutes

  • Compile and send letters and internal memos on behalf of the Purchasing Manager and Procurement Director

  • Obtain and log relevant internal authorisation for new contracts

  • Take ownership of the negotiation and award of some smaller contracts

  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by the management team

Skills and Experience -

  • Confident communicator with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office - Advanced Excel Skills would be an advantage

  • Ability to work with a high level of attention to detail

  • Highly organised

  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise workload in a busy environment

  • A background in administrative and clerical work

  • Experience of working in a team

  • Experience of working to demanding deadlines


Salary - £22,038 per annum

Hours - Mon - Fri - 9.00am - 5.00pm
