ADECCO South Wales are looking for a Procurement Manager for their client in Blackwood.


The company is an industry leader in the manufacture of Infection Control and Harm Reduction products.


Reporting directly to the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager, this newly-created role has become available due to continued growth, and will support the local site, as well as interacting with the UK-wide team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement Professional.


The Role:


- Managing direct and indirect spend for the site


- Managing site purchasing team, including mentoring and training team members, 121s etc.


- Managing strategic supplier relationships and overseeing supplier activity; onboarding, quality/compliance, negotiating, monitoring OTIF etc.


- Liaising with other sites and coordinating team's contribution to Group projects


- Leading continuous improvement within the procurement function


- Monitoring and reporting savings/increases to Group Procurement


- Managing stock levels and safety stock


- Risk management of Supply Chain


- Contributing to New Product Development



The Ideal Candidate:


- Experience in commodity procurement (ideally Polymers)


- Proven ability to make cost savings and improve efficiency


- Able to work on own initiative, think analytically, and create projects from analysis


- People management experience and ability to develop a team


- Excellent communication and organisational skills


- CIPS qualification desirable


- Excellent IT skills, with experience in Syspro desirable
