Job Description - Quality Assurance Operative

What is a Quality Assurance Operative and what do they do?

As a Quality Assurance Operative you will be involved in blade production, and your responsibilities will consist of:

  • Carry out routine quality operations.

  • Applies quality systems, equipment, tools and methods.

  • Completes quality related checks, tests, and procedures, with involvement of production and quality colleagues.

  • Reports when quality does not match the standards.

  • Reports accurately and timely to accountable management.

  • Analysis of fiberglass and resin properties

  • Registration of any deviations from the quality of the blades

  • Testing associated with blade production

  • Visual inspection of the blade

  • Various ad hoc tasks

Useful skills and entry qualifications are:

Experience of any of the following would be helpful for your application:

  • Inspection skills

  • Laboratory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience of working with chemicals and epoxy would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given

  • You are structured, quality conscious and have an eye for detail with a proactive approach to your tasks

  • Experience of working a shift pattern that includes nights and weekends

  • Have good communication skills, and you are familiar with MS Office suite

  • Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)

  • Recording & Analysis of lab reports

  • Experience of work with Mettler Toledo equipment

  • Thermography (TG) sample reporting
