Adecco are currently working with a well-known manufacturing company in the recruit of a Quality Inspector, see below:


Job Title: Quality Inspector


Location: Hythe, Kent


Salary: £21,294 increasing to £22,693 following 3 month probation.


Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1pm

Job Purpose:


The department is focused on ensuring that work produced meets the agreed quality standards and complies with the clients' drawings and special instructions and ensure that all customers receive high quality product and that will meet delivery performance targets.


The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that components produced are of the best quality and correct to customer specifications. You must be prepared to move around the company's quality areas to build up an all-round knowledge of QC procedures.


Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:



  • To ensure that components produced are of the best quality

  • To ensure that components produced are correct to customer specifications

  • To verify dimensions

  • Check first offs that the setter or operator require second checking

  • Carry out goods inwards inspection of material and components received from suppliers

  • Inspect components before they are sent out to the customer

  • Record non-conforming products

  • Create quality documentation

  • Identify causes for non-conformance and work to improve the product quality and discuss recommended actions

  • Assist with the calibration of company equipment as required

  • Ensure that you are working to the correct methods

  • To be responsible for your own Health & Safety in the area you are working in

  • Ensure good house keeping of your working environment

  • Attend daily tier meetings

  • Assist with customers/visitors if required


Experience and skills required for this position:



  • The ability to read Engineering Drawings.

  • The ability to use a range of basic measuring equipment i.e. - Vernier Caliper, Micrometre, Height Gauge, Slip Gauges, Clock & Stand, Depth Micrometre etc

  • Knowledge of special and job specific quality tools and equipment Eg. Ra surface tester, CMM, shadow graphs, X-ray etc would be an advantage. (on-site training can be given)

  • Calibration of equipment and gauges

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications of Excel, Word and Email

  • Good mathematical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good organisational skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Problem solving ability
