Quality Manager

Salary range: from £36,521 to £46,836 per annum (dependent on skills, experience and qualifications).

Full-time (35 hours per week), Permanent

Location: Regent's Park

Adecco are currently seeking a Quality Manager to lead the day-to-day operational management and business planning of the Quality team for a prestigious university based in Regents Park.

You will manage and ensure effective quality assurance processes (including internal

and external review) and will develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of quality in terms of academic standards, assurance and enhancement within the higher education UK sector. You will also lead on relevant cross-organisational strategic projects.

To be successful, you will be an experienced line manager and will have a background of working within a high pressure, customer contact environment. You will be able to speak to your experiences of effectively managing quality processes and procedures and in managing a complex administrative workload within an academic environment. In addition, you will be a strong communicator and will have the ability to work with staff at all levels including senior management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Quality team and the management and planning of the annual Quality business cycles, ensuring flexibility and cross team working.

  • Provide effective leadership of cross-organisational strategic projects

  • Line management responsibilities for Senior Quality Officers including recruitment, appraisals and annual reviews

  • To provide support and deputise for the Deputy Head of Registry and Head of Registry when required

  • To manage the (re)validation process and events, ensuring specialist support is provided before, during and after events, ensuring compliance with both quality and regulatory frameworks

  • To have responsibility for the approval and appointment of external examiners. To Review external examiner reports and ensure key issues are raised for consideration.

  • To review and develop academic regulations and associated policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and the delivery of positive outcomes to students.

  • Support the Head of Registry in ensuring that the University meets the expectations for the UK Quality Code for Higher Education.

  • Maintain effective formal and informal sector networks in order to disseminate information on the national regulation of academic quality and standards, working with stakeholders to ensure compliance with CMA, OfS and guidance from the OIA and QAA within Registry and beyond

  • To contribute to University committees, providing management information, reports and suggesting outcomes and further actions to aid University decision making. Following up Registry actions ensuring timely completion

  • To contribute to University projects as directed by the Head of Registry

  • To assist with events such as Graduation ceremonies and examinations

  • To become fully conversant with both GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act
