Adecco's specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a local housing association to assist them in recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis to work out in their offices located in Wakefield.



Purpose



The person will be responsible for assisting the Investment Programme and Planning Managers and Investment Performance Manager in carrying out any quantity surveying duties including assisting in agreeing with Technical Services 'agreed maximum prices', valuing variations, processing valuation payments and agreeing final accounts to ensure successful delivery of planned works programmes.



Duties:




  • The pre QS will work closely with Investment Planning Manager to ensure that all financial monitors are kept up to date for monthly presentation to Quality Assurance Group (QAG) and reinvestment board;




  • Provide estimate and budget costs for projects including elemental tracking to ensure the monthly tracking of all projects, assist in preparing estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, specifications and schedule of rates for programme delivery, including fee's and overheads




  • Forecast the cost of different materials needed for the project and prepare documents, bill of quantities and other documentations.




  • Create surveying templates across a range of project utilising stock condition survey data




  • Prepare drawings, specifications and / or on-site inspection and measurements;




  • Undertake financial checks and maintain financial controls and monitor costs of projects against budget, with continuous reviews in order to minimise costs .




  • Be aware of current Health & Safety Legislation and working practices for works associated with property maintenance and improvement.




  • Have an awareness of appropriate legislation and statutory requirements




  • Provide information and advice to assist WDH in meeting business plan objectives, Strategic Asset Management Plan in delivering promises and commitments made to tenants and achieving active asset management;




Candidate requirements




  • Must have an HNC qualification, Award, Certificate or Diploma at level 4 within a construction related subject .

  • Quantity surveying experience previously 1-2 years

  • Experience working in Construction, maintenance, repairs, planned works

  • Good financial understanding and ability to analyse and estimate costs within the project.

  • Knowledge and practical experience of using IT as analytical and management tools.

  • Full UK driving licence
