Adecco's specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a Not for Profit Organisation to assist them in recruiting for a permanent Quantity Surveyor -Property Maintenance to work out of their offices located in Sunderland.


To be the overall lead within Maintenance to effectively manage multiple contracts across Property Maintenance. This role will also manage the entire operational delivery of the Jewson service to Gentoo, including all aspects of consultation, customer engagement and delivery of service.


  • Effectively manage and administer all Property Maintenance contracts (primarily the Jewson contract);Setting and delivering performance standards and indicators, proactively monitoring, facilitating progress meetings, developing action plans and leading on the resolution of issues.

  • Build and maintain strong effective relationships with the all relevant account managers and local branches to ensure an excellent customer experience is received;

  • Ensure the effective commercial and financial management of company's contracts. This will include the provision of accurate and timely documentation including supporting the development of associated details for costings and budget setting in line with professional standards.

  • Effectively monitor and control financial budgets contained within the service and the overall financial management of contracts

  • Monitor feedback from employees in a timely manner to identify improvements to the service by effectively liaising with the Jewson account manager

  • Support the Operations Managers and Repairs Managers in the successful day to day management of the team and the overall maintenance service.

Candidate Requirements

  • Quantity Surveying Experience - 3 years +

  • Must have worked in Maintenance, repairs, planned works contracts for either a Housing Association, Contractor that works in Housing or similar environment

  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial negotiation with contractors to achieve value engineering across all areas of maintenance disciplines whilst maintaining required standards

  • IT skills particularly experience with Microsoft Word package.

  • Experience of managing the finances of high value contracts within repairs and facilities management, with the skills to monitor, control and take appropriate action to ensure out-turn costs are exceeded.

  • A Diploma, HNC or any other relevant professional qualification
