Adecco Stevenage are recruiting for an experienced Receptionist/Office Administrator to join a leading Motor Auction Company. This is a exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a fast paced varied role! It is a requirement for this role that you hold a Full Driving License and have your own vehicle.


Key Responsibilities



  • General adhoc administration duties, ensuring the office is kept tidy and other surrounding areas

  • Assisting the Director and Office Manager with day to day paperwork/tasks

  • Setting up new accounts, emailing out introductory emails with company details and ensuring all accounts are up to date and trade insurance policies are in date

  • First to answer any incoming calls and redirect to appropriate person, first person to greet and assist customers at the counter

  • Scanning of invoices and saving into Microsoft Word folders

  • Filing of documents into month end boxes

  • Assist customers with any enquiries about vehicles, showing customers around vehicles, giving out information on vehicles using the database, answering all email "buy it now enquiries"

  • Looking after and maintaining the "Guaranteed auction value" correspondence

  • Filing and copying of V5 yellow slip documentation

  • Taking payments, issuing invoices and giving out keys to customers once vehicles have been paid in full

  • Making weekly calls to customers to check if they have any vehicles for us to collect

  • Assisting the vehicle administrator with entering vehicles into stock if needed

  • Assisting with the twice weekly auctions - checking ID and documents, taking deposits


Minimum Requirements



  • Confident and able to work independently

  • Ability to prioritise and take ownership of tasks

  • Computer literate - Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Great telephone manner

  • High attention to detail

  • Full Driving license and own vehicle is essential


Due to the running of two weekly auctions, the working hours of this role are varied. The hours are as followed:



  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30am - 5pm

  • Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am- 8pm

  • Every other Saturday 9:30am - 12 O'clock
