As the Recruitment Team Leader your role will be to manage virtual Welcome Events for candidates to work on the Census 2021 project for The Office for National Statics.

As the Team Leader, you will co-ordinate the daily activities that are being undertaken by the team of Facilitators. You be the single point of escalation for any issues that the team may encounter during the day, ensuring that you are able to manage up to the Area Operation's Manager to avoid any delay in response.

You will co-ordinate a team of circa 12 people and will need to check in with them virtually at the start and end of each day. You will be responsible for the daily wash-up, ensuring that all conditional offers have gone out to candidates and updating the operations team on the successful number of conditional offers that have gone out each day.

Facilitators will be engaging with candidates virtually using an online platform (WebEx), to ensure that they have all the appropriate documentation to work for the Civil Service. In addition, they will be guiding them through the next stages of the on-boarding process and answering any questions they might have about the role they will be doing. As a team, you will also be required to conduct a series of Competency Based Interviews with candidates who are applying for managerial positions on the project, scoring these according to a pre-defined matrix.

For virtual recruitment events, you will be home based and will be provided with the relevant kit and recruitment packs in order to complete your role.

Your role will include:

  • Daily co-ordination of the Facilitator team, ensuring workload has been allocated and that everyone has clear direction for the day.

  • Where required, checking ID documents for each candidate to ensure they have the legal right to work for the Civil Service along with proof of address and pre employment screening checks.

  • Moving candidates through the applicant tracking system to reflect their attendance and appropriate stage within the recruitment process

  • Allocating candidates to job codes and work areas

  • Issuing conditional offers to candidates
