Manufacturing Maintenance and Repair Technician

Contract: 6 months

Rate: £18 per hour + 20% shift allowance (£21.60 while working night shift)

Location: Sudbury

SHIFT: Initial 3 weeks on Days training then on Night shift 10.15-05.45 (Sun-Thurs)

Adecco have an exciting new opportunity to work as Repair Technician with an innovative organisation near Sudbury. The ideal individual would have confident ability to repair electro-mechanical faults, will be experienced with initial fault diagnosis and have excellent communication with wider engineering team onsite


  • HNC, NVQ or equivalent experience in relatable engineering (Ideally electro-mechanical)

  • Fault finding experience

  • Previous experience in repair technician position in active production site on machinery

  • Electrical background - Able to understand electrical drawings / test equipment

  • Mechanical knowledge - Able to use/handle tools for repairs

  • Drawing knowledge - Able to read and understand drawings

  • Demonstrate sound fault diagnosis practices

  • Understanding of tools and parts; able to follow technical instructions and/or diagrams

  • Self confident - Has a strong belief in self, and projects an air of confidence.

  • Communicator - Good at communicating to others both written and verbally.

  • Experience with word/excel/powerpoint and comfortable in creating workflow/step-by-step guide for training others in standard repairs

  • Ability to support Out of Hours - On Call Rota

  • Initial training on current production machinery is given. Any current experience of labelling machines, print machine or assisted manufacturing tools/machinery is beneficial

What you'll be doing

To operate within Point Of Care within Sudbury Engineering Department supporting manufacturing Department in all aspects of asset management to including maintenance, repair and improvement of manufacturing operations.

  • To repair in a timely manner manufacturing and process equipment Mechanical & Electrical Electronic and Software support.

  • Ensure all Manufacturing process are available to Production Operations as and when desired

  • Deliver rapid response, to asset availability in line with the expectations of Manufacturing Operations

  • Report Process uptime including breakdowns and ensure reaction and countermeasures are in place at the first attempt where possible (permanent corrective action)

  • Updating Procedures

  • Review and update Maintenance and Calibration Procedures

  • Process uptime control and monitoring (FTPR, OEE, MTTR/MTTF etc.)

  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly/yearly Maintenance

  • Maintain Calibration schedule for Hand Tools and Test Equipment, internally and with external suppliers
