We have an exciting temporary opportunity to work with a prestigious university based in Central London. The role is for a Research Support Officer currently for 3 months paying £16.74 per hour.



Core tasks:




  • Supporting research commissioning processes:

    • Collating research funding applications

    • Managing peer review processes

    • Coordinating and supporting funding committees, including compiling and circulating papers for meetings

    • Drafting feedback to successful and unsuccessful applicants

    • Liaising with relevant commissioning panel members to finalise documents and feedback letters

    • Producing minutes from commissioning panel meetings



  • Collating information for core reports, including compiling comments and edits on drafts

  • Compiling information from research project progress reports (c.40), and drafting and sending response letters

  • Updating records for commissioned research awards - including on milestones, staffing



Skills and experience:




  • Experience of servicing committee meetings

  • Experience of producing minutes and drafting business documents

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Excellent communications skills and experience of engaging with external contacts

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, working to challenging targets and deadlines

  • Ability to provide information accurately and promptly



Desirable




  • Experience of working within Higher Education

  • Experience of supporting research funding/grant processes or committees

  • Interest in adult social care
