An exciting new opportunity has arisen for Responsive Maintenance Manager to join a public organisation based in Essex.


The successful candidate would be responsible for the following duties:


To manage the Responsive Repairs Team ensuring Housing Services provides excellent services in line with legislative, corporate and best practice requirements by



  • Displaying "role-model" behaviours while coaching and monitoring the Responsive Repairs caseworkers, ensuring the Service is dynamic and effective, maximising outputs and value from the organisations resources by identifying problem areas.

  • To be responsible for the effective operational delivery of the organisation's responsive repairs service to all managed stock and where obligations to shared owners, landlords and leaseholders exist including all pre- and post-contract management and procurement as required in accordance with European and Council rules.

  • To develop and implement the client role as appropriate in the delivery of the responsive repairs service through external service providers. Lead and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary teams and individuals, both internal and in partnering organisations, in the delivery of service and objectives.

  • To be responsible for the effective monitoring and management of repairs activity through the maintenance and responsive repairs contracts. Taking appropriate action to resolve any under performance in conjunction with contract arrangements as required.

  • To develop and deliver consultation and liaison with residents, tenants and leaseholders as appropriate to ensure effective service delivery and development.
