Duration: Up to 9 months to start once security clearance is obtained

Hours: 9 - 5pm

Shift Patterns: It will be 5 days a week 37hrs a week

Location: Vulcan House, Sheffield

Role Overview:

The role of administrative support staff is to underpin the decision-making role to ensure that family reunion cases can progress through the relevant processes. You will be working as part of a small team administering some of these functions in Sheffield.

  • Accurately update internal computer systems including Proviso, CID and ATLAS

  • Conduct required operating mandate checks on cases within specified timeframes

  • Monitor and update local spreadsheets precisely

  • Overseeing inboxes and correspond.

  • Download and save documents from internal systems

  • Creating case files

  • Monitor the storage of documents in line with GDPR guidelines

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to progress cases

  • Support in the handling and maintaining of appeal processes

  • Actioning appeal determinations

  • Contributing to process improvements

  • Highlight risks to management

  • Undertaking monthly 1-2-1 conversations/coaching sessions

Skills/ Experience

  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

  • Can deliver quality outputs within tight timescales.

  • Problem solver.

  • Strong IT skills.

  • Familiarity with Home Office systems including Proviso, CID, CRS etc a bonus.

Preferable Criteria

  • Knowledge of Family Reunion policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of Asylum or Visas work.

Security Clearance Due to the nature of the work you will be required to apply for security clearance that can take up to 35 days dependant on your history. You will also need to have the following to be able to process your application:

  • Resided in the UK for the last 3 years

  • Have a *current* British Passport or settlement status due to the sensitive nature of the work

  • NI Number

  • 2 x proof of addresses (all in uk)

  • 5 years full history with no gaps of more than 1 month

  • 3 years solid reference with no gaps of more than 1 month
