Internal Sales & Business Development Executive

Location: Hayward heath

Salary: £25k- £30k p.a.

Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Director, the primary responsibilities of this role will be to generate new business opportunities and follow up on new leads, follow up on quotations issued by the internal sales team, liaise with customers, and pitch our products via phone to a mixture of warm and cold leads.

The role will be office based, with a high level of activity around telephone calls and emails, alongside online research to generate new opportunities.

Role Responsibilities include -

  • Following up on new business opportunities generated by the marketing department.

  • Using tactics to acquire contact details and email addresses for potential new customers via telephone calls.

  • Pitching our products via phone and email to potential new customers.

  • Collaborate with the design and engineering team to ensure customer's specific requirements can be met.

  • Gaining a strong understanding of our products, our competition, and our position in the industry, by using own initiative to maximise opportunity to acquire this knowledge in house.

  • Assisting with managing the diary of the Sales Director, booking customer appointments and obtaining opportunities for new visits.

  • Meeting sales targets set by the Sales Director.

  • Ensuring our customer and contact database is kept up to date, amend details where necessary, as well as adding opportunities to the CRM pipeline, updating regularly after contact with the customer to ensure reporting is accurate.

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous sales experience in an office environment.

  • Confident on the telephone and making a large number of sales calls, both to existing customers as well as cold calling.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • General computer literacy including proficient use in Office packages.

  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as manage own time effectively.

  • Organisational skills with an efficient and systematic approach.

  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours if required.

  • Experience using a CRM to manage customer base and progress sales opportunities.

  • Good negotiating skills with the ability to close deals.
