Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant


Full time 37 hours per week


Permanent Salary; £19,261 per annum


Location; Central Rotherham



We are looking for a motivated and pro-active individual with previous Sales Ledger and Credit Control experience to join a busy finance department of an organisation with a total group annual Income of £36million.



Your main objective will be to assist in the management and maintenance of the sales ledger and credit control functions on a day to day basis.

Key duties will include:




  • To ensure that all income due to the client (and its subsidiaries) is recognised in a timely fashion and in line with Financial Regulations and Administration Procedures. This includes invoices, direct debits and online payment

  • To post monies received into the finance system and allocate accurately

  • To assist with credit control for the Group including liaising with customers with respect to queries and overdue payments with an overall view to reducing outstanding levels of debt

  • To liaise with other departments where the source of monies are unknown or where monies remain unpaid

  • To ensure month end close down is completed in line with the organisation's monthly timetable

  • To maintain all records to allow for fast retrieval and ease of use of such information

  • Other ad-hoc tasks and covering for other members of the team as required.




Person specification:



  • Previous experience in a similar role



  • Able to work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines

  • Pleasant and helpful approach at all times

  • Able to work in an organised and methodical manner

  • Work effectively as a member of a team.

  • Work in a professional and confidential manner with a high degree of integrity and flexibility.

  • Able to work with sensitive information and treat this confidentially in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act

  • Willing to undertake any training connected with the post

  • English and Maths GCSE grades A-C (or equivalent) or higher
