An exciting opportunity has arisen for a an experienced Sales Ledger to slot into a hardworking, friendly team on a temporary to permanent basis. Working within the sales ledger and credit control areas of the business, the key purposes would be ensuring invoices are completed accurately and making sure payments are received promptly and efficiently.

Wage: £13.70ph

Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (30 min lunch)

This is a temporary ongoing role with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Duties Include:

  • Managing the sales ledger inbox

  • Creating accounts for new customers.

  • Maintaining the sales ledger to ensure all accounts are kept tidy and details are up to date.

  • Producing and processing of invoices along with any re-charges.

  • Proactively investigate and manage queries, registering invoice disputes in a timely fashion.

  • Take responsibility for investigating and resolving any deductions from payment.

  • Reconcile the bank

  • Prepare accurate and timely month end statements for customers.

  • Ensure efficient collection of customer debt, by telephone, email and letters.

  • Maintain an efficient average for settlement accounts to improve cash flow and minimise bad debt exposure.

  • Be able to communicate in an efficient yet friendly manner with customers, as well as the possibility of a broader accounts receivable team.

  • Report to Manager regarding status of all large debtors and the need to place customers on stop.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of the department and using discretion where necessary.

  • Making recommendations to management on improvements to systems and controls.

Preferable Experience Required:

  • Competent in Sage line 50

  • Have previous experience in sales ledger

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong and confident telephone manner

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Able to multitask and meet tight deadlines

  • Organised, adaptable and ability to prioritise

  • Solid team working skills

  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships
