An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scientist specialising in Raw materials to work for a major FMCG client on the infamous Slough Trading Estate.


This is the purpose of our UK & EU Raw Materials & Value Leadership team. Our team ensures our consumers can rely on good quality and safe ingredients in our products. The team has a broad variety of nationalities, various backgrounds, knowledge and expertise. What we share is our passion to deliver quality work and to challenge status quo. We do this by being the guardian of the Material Quality Management standard as well as using a fact based approach.


In the role you focus on creation, review and finalisation of Material Risk Assessments (MRA's) and specifications. In order to succeed you will closely collaborate with different teams Supplier Quality Assurance, R&D technical teams, site Q&FS, central Q&FS etc. You will support various category owners in our team, and will have a strong focus on Diary ingredients.

We're transforming from a team that is focusing on staying on top of requests for MRA's and Specifications to a team that is pro-actively looking forward. Keeping up to date with challenges on raw materials that are coming our way and how we can best tackle them (e.g. legislation, shortage, trends etc).



Qualifications & competencies


We're looking for someone with a Bsc or Msc in Food technology or a similar, relevant study. We're specifically looking for Diary expertise. Ideally you have experience in Quality and Food Safety management systems, you're knowledgeable in Quality management tools such as HACCP, have good communication skills and attention to detail. Competencies desired are: Drives Efficiency, Applies Robust Science, Leverages Connections, Action Oriented, Customer Focus, Drive for Results, Planning, Peer Relationships, Priority Setting.
