PURPOSE OF ROLE:


To analyse data to provide business insight for the Client Special Educational Needs service that will drive improvements in service quality, efficiency and performance. This includes documenting and reporting the results of data analysis activities and making recommendations to influence decision makers. The role will also support the service in meeting its statutory returns requirements and highlight any data quality identified data quality issues. This role is central in our ambition to more effectively utilise data to drive value and better outcomes.


The role holder will have a good understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of analyses


The role will be responsible for different aspects of data analysis, including;


* Collation and transformation of data for analytical purposes.
* Analysis to inform strategic planning, operational decision making, business cases/funding bids and commissioning/procurement for the SEN service.
* Support the SEN service in completing its statutory requirements, including government returns and highlight data quality issues.
* Presenting insights and intelligence to key stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain a variety of data tools and models
* Supporting development and adoption of analytical tools such as Power BI.


Challenge, Change and Improvement
1. Championing data analytics, business intelligence, performance management, service improvement and efficiency requirements within the Strategy, Performance and Intelligence service and promoting best practice to the council and its partnerships
2. Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports which provide meaningful insight and reporting capability.
3. Supporting the delivery of innovative data analytics and advice, and performance management and service improvement interventions at tactical, operational and strategic levels to support the delivery of operational objectives
