£20-£21 HOURLY RATE


MONDAY - FRIDAY- 9AM - 5PM


3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)

THE SENIOR HOUSING INVESTIGATIONS OFFICER'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • To case manage incidents of housing fraud relating to breaches of tenancy conditions by undertaking the investigation of suspected irregularities and misuse of the housing stock (both permanent and temporary accommodation).

  • To take appropriate legal and enforcement action against perpetrators of housing fraud.

  • To lead the housing fraud investigation team in making effective use of relevant statutory powers and policies to reduce levels of all forms of housing fraud

  • To undertake visits to home addresses, places of employment and other sites pertinent to an investigation, both inside and outside the borough



  • To have oversight of investigations in Civil/Criminal cases from referral to closure including legal action, this includes determining evidence, which may be sensitive and not disclosed to the defence, as well as non-sensitive material.



  • To provide case management advice and support to the Housing Investigation Officers.

  • To supervise the Housing Investigation officers in their case management and direct and decide which cases the officers should pursue.

  • Responsible for the management of 3 Housing Investigation Officers.



THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:



  • Extensive experience of housing management including proven investigative work experience

  • Knowledge of the law relating to sub-letting and illegal occupation

  • Experience of giving evidence in court and to other bodies

  • Experience of managing a varied and complex caseload

  • Full UK or EU driving licence.
