JOB TITLE: Senior Information Governance Officer
LOCATION: Tower Hamlets, London
PAY RATE: £23 per hour Umbrella
DURATION: 3 months minimum
START DATE: ASAP

It is an exciting time in the field of Data Protection and a great opportunity to join the Council and help shape its future. This client has well established and robust Information Governance structures and consistently achieves high assessment ratings.

We are looking to fill this opportunity with an experienced and highly motivated professional who will complement the skills of the existing team.

In this role you will support the Team Manager to implement policies, procedures, systems and programmes for information governance, including records management, information security, freedom of information and data protection across the Children's and Culture Directorate, and the Health, Adults and Community Directorate.

You will have good networking and influencing skills, the ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondence and to lead work projects.


KNOWLEDGE:



  1. Knowledge of regulatory and corporate complaints systems (including Corporate Complaints and Adults and Children's Social Care Complaints), the International Standard for quality and related issues and legislation.



  1. Knowledge of law and practice in relation to the following legislation and its application to public authorities: Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Data Protection Act 1998, the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 and cognate legislation.



  1. Knowledge of the range of services that local authorities provide.



  1. Knowledge of advocacy, community support and interpreting services .


EXPERIENCE:



  1. Experience of carrying out complex investigations and analysis of complex data, regulations and legislation.



  1. Experience of working effectively as part of a team.



  1. Experience of writing complex reports and correspondence on behalf of senior managers and executive bodies in clear and precise language.

  2. Experience of business process analysis and suggesting / implementing service improvement initiatives
