Senior Production Operative



39 hours per week. 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 1.30pm Friday

Our client is recruiting for a Senior Production Operative which is an exciting new position, this role would suit someone who is looking to progress their career within a manufacturing operations role, with the potential to progress into management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a small team of production operators to deliver production targets.

  • Assist with auditing of production paperwork, including daily PM's, H&S / QC checks.

  • Quality control inspection of all manufactured products.

  • Assist in scheduling and allocating work for all Production Operatives to achieve daily and weekly production targets.

  • Liaise and work proactively with the commercial team and dispatch teams regarding finished goods requirements to fulfill customer orders.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities including Health & Safety.

Candidate Specification

  • A capable, confident and 'hands-on' person with experience and knowledge gained within a busy production environment, including operating production equipment.

  • Proven supervisory skills to lead a small production team whilst working within the team to produce themselves.

  • Comfortable to change existing working practices and methods to improve the team, working environment and wider company.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A very good understanding of Health & Safety practices, procedures & PPE.

  • Understanding of ISO9001- 2015 quality processes and procedures.

  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing, familiar with Lean Tools such as 5s.

  • Good communication and reporting skills, be fully IT literate.

  • Forklift qualified (although training would be provided).

  • The ability to prioritise functions and balance workload accordingly.

  • 'Can do' approach and a team player.
