Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer (Partnership potential)


Salary: £50,000- £55,000 per annum plus benefits


Location: Luton, Bedfordshire


Our client provides design and build valued engineering foundations solutions from their in house team of chartered structural & geotechnical engineers. Their service offering covers, Piling, Groundworks & Civils, Reinforced concrete foundations and structures


The successful candidate will become an integral member of their skilled Structures team and help with their expanding workload on a full-time permanent basis. There is also an opportunity for the Chartered Senior Engineer to become a partner in the firm within a few years.



Responsibilities



  • Advising on suitable materials for a build

  • Advising on building repairs or demolition

  • Preparing bids for tender

  • Inspecting unsafe buildings and recommending options for repairs or demolition

  • Making sure that projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements



  • Be able to do calculations/Drawing by hand without needing to rely on a computer



  • Working out the loads and stresses on different parts of a structure

  • Working closely on construction plans with clients, architects, and other professionals


Requirements



  • Excellent mathematics, IT and mechanics skills

  • The ability to analyse complex problems and assess solutions

  • The ability to explain design plans and ideas

  • Good project management skills

  • The ability to meet deadlines

  • Positive, confident attitude with a strong work ethic
