We are currently recruiting for a Service Desk Technical Specialist based near Barbican, London. Hybrid model, Monday - Friday. 12 months contract with a view to being extended. Pay £40,965 - £46,965 per annual.

The post holder will support the internal Service Desk to drive analysis and identify, prioritise and implement improvements and efficiencies. The Service Desk Technical Specialist will liaise and negotiate with those contracted to deliver the Fraud solution. This will involve the ongoing coordination/management of the system and reporting directly into Senior Management Teams of the Economic Crime Directorate. The postholder will be expected to demonstrate technical expertise, interpret complex legislation and policy, and safeguard the organisation from internal and external reputational risks.

Duties will include:

  • Effectively resolve user Incidents and Problems by applying known fixes and workarounds

  • Liaise with third party support companies, ensuring timely resolution and service levels are achieved

  • Provide desk side support to users where further analysis is required and gather information to fix issues

  • Carry out project work either individually or as part of a team

  • Implement service improvements ideas individually or as part of a team

  • Provide out of hours support on a rota basis to support the business needs

  • Receiving, logging and managing calls from internal staff via telephone and email

  • Resolve helpdesk issues, including troubleshooting, hardware and software issues


  • At least one-year continuous IT Service/Helpdesk experience

  • Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and practical application

  • Technical Security Architecture

  • Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery

  • Experience of supporting Windows 7 & 10

  • Experience of supporting Office 2010 & 2016

  • Information / IT Security Management
